Hotel Chic & Basic Born, Barcelona

nice hotel, nice bed, nice styling with white/mirror LED lamps. trendy but with respect for the old building. good breakfast. you are in the middle of the busy center of El Born the most beautiful old part of Barcelona, but inside its very quiet. You can pick up free cold water bottles and make a coffee in the company room if u like. We will definitely consider staying here again on our next Barcelona trip.

Sometimes the old building can transport a bit of walking and door closing noises from the other hotelguests but at night its very quiet.

Great staff who were happy to open bottles of wine for us and we liked the the common areas set up for guests.

Dark halls and the hanging ropes at door entrances.

The hotel is passed glory, the lobby is nice but the hotel rooms seems like they need an urgent update.

We liked the Meeting Room, and the quirky comments on the shower soap etc. Nice touch to get the cloth shopping bag, and welcoming wine and snacks.

Location. I can see how a young couple would like the place but for two friends of older age it was not suitable. Especially sharing one bed and not even having a chair in the room.

Property was lovely , we loved location. staff is exceptionally friendly

There's no real privacy for the washroom as it faces the balcony. A bit weird The WiFi is extremely slow and constantly disconnects. The staff could be friendlier The room could use some maintenance

Great location, and it was styled quite well. Personnel was very friendly and helpful.

The bed was waaaaay too small for two persons.

The room lacked a chair and table for work. This can be inconvenient for business travelers who wish to work inside their room.

The staff were friendly and the beds were comfortable, luggage storage was helpful too! The location was great, lots of good food nearby

The shower is in the middle of the room half covered by a curtain, so recommended to only share with people you feel comfortable with.. the toilet isn’t private either. ( the layout of the bathroom is horrible and could easily be fixed/have a wall between the rooms. Also there was no safe which would have been ideal

We loved the balcony overlooking the interesting night scene below! The location was not central but was close to Picasso Museum and trendy restaurants in an emerging part of town. A bit of a funky decor but they had a great room on every floor with Nespresso machine and pods and free cold water to fill bottles.

Room could use a comfortable chair or two instead of the small stools.(I might be remembering this wrong). There is also an open glass shower attached to the room with bed so really only appropriate for a couple.

Interior design, balcony, location, helpfull staf, coffee, cold water facilities.

Great location being able to walk to the beach but also plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. Very friendly staff and easy check in/out process. Comfortable bed and air conditioning did the job.

Could do with a few more amenities in the room, however not a major issue at all.

I was in an interior room...which was fine, but I recommend paying a little extra to have a room with a balcony.

very nice, unconventional design of rooms, with coloured lights and curtains. And a lot of space. There was no coffeemaker in the room, but the service with fresh espresso in a common room was a good alternative.

there was no chair in my room, although there was more than enough space. I had some work to do and had to do that sitting on the bed and later went down to the lobby

Excellent location, 24 hour front desk. Clean with great AC.

Rooms are a bit small if you need to put luggage down. Shower in middle of room took a bit of getting used to. Would have been nice to have a mini fridge in room.

The hotel is very charming, I liked the fact that water and coffee anytime for free.

Strange plastic installations around doors and in rooms that made it look tacky and were unnecessary and annoying! Room felt a like a plastic box. But great location and good value.

Breakfast expensive for what it was! Last hotel it was €10 and more variety!
