Great location, friendly staff, clean bathrooms, and space to work if you need to. Walkable distance to historic parts of the city. Definitely will stay again.

It was a cold night and the room was slightly chilly. No extra blankets were found.

I would say all is very good - if it has to be picky, maybe the bed is a bit soft for me.

Location, staff, things to do, accommodations, activities, comfy bed, amenities, facility, and the price! The staff is was really made my trip and made me stay though my reservation, and not cancel!

Room temperature; I was on the top bunk in one room and the heaters were blasting make it awful to be in the room and could not sleepy. The room temp was 82 F for the first night of my stay. The thermostat did not work for my room. The bottom bunks were tolerable but the top bunks weee miserable. However, I was able to switch rooms the a lower bunk the same night which completely turned around my stay. Heavy doors- so everyone was slamming doors making it hard to sleep. Not very sound proof- you could hear everything.

Had a very nice single room with its own bathroom. All very clean and well supplied with towels and other amenities. I felt the price was a little high for a hostel...almost as much as an (affordable) hotel... altho, as stated, it was nicer than a typical hostel. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.

I know I already wrote this once, perhaps directly to the hostel (?). As an older, retired-type guest, I wished there were other people in my age group. Every other guest was young and the atmosphere did not encourage interaction even among them; the dining room was quiet with solitary individuals and couples. I'm sure there are some older folks who would like to stay in a clean, comfortable, not super-expensive accommodation. The hostel knows and so do I that a person of any age can stay here but I think the hostel would need to do some advertising and perhaps outreach to broaden the guest base this way.

People at the reception were very helpful and friendly. There is a big social room where you can store food, you can use mugs, plates and pans. Coffee is free, but Tea costs extra Bathrooms are on the aisle but there are plenty and really clean

The location, the cleanliness of bathrooms, the fact that the breakfast is included, the price, the possibility to store the luggage before C/I and after C/O.

The heavy doors!!!! (I squashed my finger), the uncomfortable beds, the poor breakfast offer; the staff wasn’t very helpful and available (kinda weird manners I would say, didn’t explain things clearly and didn’t help).

There is everything you need and more ! The staff was really friendly, the room and bathroom were clean. You have one big locker by bed which is perfect. The common areas are really cosy, ideal to spend time with new friends and play some boards games. Breakfast is included and good. Everything is well organized. Big bonus for all the activities offered by the hostel : city and pub tours, movie nights, gathering ... You'll may come alone but will not stay alone if it is what you are looking for :)

The dormitory is a bit small but totally OK for a hostel.

The staff was awesome, everything was clean and the location was perfect.

This was my first time in a hostel, and I do not recommend the experience at all, It is really difficult to sleep and to enjoy the place.

The pillows are thin. It’s tough to regulate the temperature of the rooms.

Free breakfast at a hostel? Hell yeah. I like the concept of the bathrooms. You share it, but you still have privacy.

The room was so cold, it was about 65F/17C. I figured out how to get the room warmer, but who thought this temperature was enough? And you only got a thin blanket, so you need the room to be warmer.

It was fine. Usual hostel experience.

As always, people disregard the quiet hours and are noisy in the halls all night.

Second time staying at HI Boston. I love how convenient its location is. Close to the train station and the South Station. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby as well. They have a big shared kitchen and I love it!

The bed wasn't very comfortable, but overall stay was good.

Tours, diverse evening program

Glitch my second evening : hostel employee responsible for showing/hosting *evening movie* had suddenly quit; the substitute host ((great otherwise!) substituted a last minute movie that in fact was inappropriate: so we in hostel movie audience were exposed to bloody/ brutal killings —on a Japanese train, in rapid succession —at very outset of movie: fifteen 15 brutal bloody murders in space of 15 minutes: one every minute! Timed From start of movie: thus averaging *one murder a minute.* Such a film is NOT acceptable to show youthful international visitors to Boston for “light” evening entertainment. A personal solution worked for me; I walked away at 30 minutes into movie, and decided to eventually report; so that a better proper film screening and control/oversight may be undertaken by a mature employee committee. Films should be *previewed* for appropriateness; this one obviously failed on that point. (second night of my stay.) Otherwise all good : except for movie . other refreshments and food excellent! And desk and room service excellent! The long 5-hour Boston downtown tour superb excellent, so well-guided!!
