Expert reviews

New York Times review:

“The Line Hotel retains some of the stripped-concrete walls and industrial-chic aesthetic. This new hotel is shaping up to be the “it” location for night owls and adventurous omnivores. Its biggest accomplishment is introducing visitors to the gems of little-known Koreatown.”

The Guardian review:

“The Line has a modern industrial feel straight out of slow lifestyle magazine Kinfolk, mixed with Korean simplicity and bright colours. There are plenty of nightspots within a mile’s radius.”

Cute place

The hotel is unique.

The location was hard to find and on a busy street. I didn't like that valet is only available and cost per day to park your car is overpriced.

One night stay at the end of business trip

Really comfy beds, great views, great vibe at the hotel. Open air restaurant had a nice atmosphere for brunch, Alfred coffee downstairs is a favourite. Good gym also. Koreatown is basically a financial district, but there’s some walkable spots here and there.

Rooms are on the smaller side, and the oversized desk and weird coffee table take up a lot of room.

Okay midrange option, needs a refresh

Friendly staff, fairly central location, although not the most interesting neighborhood. The pool had plenty of space for guests to enjoy and the food was quite good.

This property feels a bit worn and needs a refresh. Looking up from the pool one can see what appears to be cracks in quite a number of the window panes of the rooms. The $75 early check in fee, even for an hour early feels a bit silly.

The Line is fine- it’s a bit overpriced and lacking in some basic amenities but makes up for it in location and walkabil

Great walkability thru Korea Town. Lobby coffee shop was good and there were a variety of restaurants and bars in the area. The room (double full) was big enough, and functional for three people. Water was hot! The full sized shampoo/ conditioner/ body wash was nice and good quality. The room was clean. The natural light was great. The restaurant OpenAire was beautiful. Make a reservation though, and expect to pay at least $40 per person for a basic breakfast (eggs/bacon/coffee)- one hot tea was a laughable $9.

The soft furnishings and carpets thru out the hotel really need cleaned/ replaced. Everything has a lot of wear and tear. We didn’t know there was a hotel union workers strike going on when we booked, but quickly found out when the picket line drumming and chanting began at 7am and 3pm respectively. Had we known, we probably would’ve tried to support a hotel whose workers weren’t on strike. The website touts a water filter/ refillable bottles, but the fill station is in the lobby and the bottle is tiny. It also had a blinking “replace filter” light on the entire time we were there, which made me want to buy water elsewhere. In addition, there’s no way to heat drinking water in-room, so you’re stuck going to the lobby to pay for coffee or tea. One of our windows was stuck partially open, so the first night was chilly and loud- Bring earplugs because the big picture windows are single pane, you can hear everything. And our bathtub and sink were totally clogged. We called guest services and they had maintenance fix both issues right away so i’ll give them that!

Great of you can get a view of the hills.

It’s a solid place and you know what you’re getting.

Certain areas feel a little tired now and an elevator was out which made the journey to the lobby a little longer.

Very good

They dont accept Chime bankcards at all which is ridiculous because Chime is FDIC! This needs to be showcased in the property information

Will book again since it’s a dog friendly place.

It was in a great location, room was very zen. Although it was in a busy area it was quite.

The sheets in the room had stains on them and the TV was not a smart TV.

Nice stay

- Nice terrace of the Openaire restaurant - We got a mountain view room, I didn't expect it would have a view of the Hollywood sign - Interesting underground style - Bus and Metro station right in front of the hotel

Pleasant

The room was a good size and clean. Appreciated the restaurant and bars. The housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful.

Did not love the early check in fee. I found it excessive. Also, the staff worked at a very slow pace.

Cool stay for a short trip

The service, the attention as well as the looks of the place. Everything look great but a little to minimalistic. It's not a family hotel but sure is an elegant one

There was a wedding on the premises and a lot of noise could be heard over the halls and on certain times on the room. It's not the hotel's fault but still, there was noise

Would definitely stay again because the location was superb.

Location is the absolute best. Room at level 9 with a high mountain view was awesome. You can see Griffith observatory and the Hollywood sign within one window pane.

The facilities are a little old and could use some maintenance. I didn't like that there wasn't a lot of places to put my trash because my room had no trash can aside from under my desk.

Very good

Location is great to explore Koreatown. Pool and bar areas are nice. Room was tastefully decorated. Beautiful view of the Hollywood mountain.

$75 fee for early check in? I resent that, especially since the room rate is over $300/night. The bed needs to be replaced. Not comfortable. Back pain.

Pricey but worth the "Seize the Day" Adventure

This is my second time staying at the LINE and as always the staff was excellent. They went above and beyond when I mentioned we were celebrating a birthday and left a card with wine. The Lobby area was a fun spot to grab quick bites and happy hour. Travis at the bar was amazing, making us want to go back! We also enjoyed the pool and the 2 clubs they have in the hotel which were super fun! I highly recommend both Breakroom 86 and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang but go early as the lines get long!

I really wish there was an either coffeepot or Kuerig and a microwave. I like to enjoy tea at time and black coffee in the morning, plus we tend to have leftovers so those simple amenities would've have made it a 5 for me.
