Woodlark Hotel, Portland

Great modern style, great bar, great coffee in the morning.

Took me a while to find the blow dryer. And the team fixing the (really good) coffee in the morning was a bit uncoordinated, which made them take 10 minutes to fix a Flat White.

I wish the room was a little larger. hard to maneuver around.

Can’t say enough about how great the staff are. There’s Good Coffee in the lobby with exceedingly good coffee. Furniture was nicely appointed. Bathroom fixtures are luxe. Location was amazing.

The valet parking was super expensive.

I loved all that was offered and was very excited about Staying at the Woodlark. I was very much looking forward to coffee and breakfast in the morning. I will definitely come back to visit. The staff at the desk was very kind in offering their assistance. The bed was super comfortable, the room was warm.

I got sick in the middle of my stay and left early. Because of this, I was not able to experience Woodlark the way I wanted to.

The cafe and the bar were really great. I mike the deco too.

For whatever reason, they didn’t clean my room one day even though I took the “no disturb” sign off the door.

My room was right next to an giant dumpster/ street. Very noisy, I thought I was getting a free upgrade, instead I spent the night in an active construction site, very bad nights sleep, would have preferred a quiet broom cupboard, gave up at 4 am and went to the airport early, ugh. all I wanted was some sleep 😭

Supply of towel set requested was not prompt. The light control was close to the door. We have to get up to turn off the light at night before we go to bed, instead of just reaching out for the lamps next to our bed.

when we arrived there were three staff sitting at the desk chatting, they could see that I was struggling to open the door with all of my luggage but no one came to help - not a great welcome the staff later proceeded to tell us about their fabulous cocktail lounge that they suggested we went to but it was actually closed for our whole stay there was a kettle in the room but no tea or coffee or cups etc

The room was pretty small. The breakfast is at the lobby and has only couple choices.

1) The restaurant and bar on the ground floor are great. 2) Location 3) The valet paring is smooth and convenient. Yes, it is expensive.

1) The homelessness and drug crises in Portland are devastating. You could say that it is not a responsibility of the hotel, but I would argue with that. The location is a very important factor. It always affects the hotel rating. All the hotels are aware about that. Portland is a city with a great potential (hotels, restaurants, architecture, history), but it is poisoned by the homelessness and drug crises. It is very frustrating. What can the hotel do? Its owners as well as owners of other businesses must work with politics and the city government to fix the problem. They have money and power for that. Otherwise, they will lose their business sooner or later. 2) We had a room on the third floor. It had a very high ceiling (about 20 ft), but only one small and short window looking into a courtyard. It looked like some technical or non-residential premises that was converted to a hotel room. I would recommend to ask for a room with a street view.

The showers were awful, no coffee in the room- expensive for these overlooked elements.

Great location. Love Abagill Hall, Bullard and Good Coffee, all the staff in those restaurants are terrific. The interior design is beautiful and of course the beds are amazing.

Valet takes a really long time. If you need your car in a hurry plan ahead. I waited over 45 minutes after I asked for it the requested 15 minutes prior to when it’s needed . The towels in the room are also really thin. at one time they were much more luxurious.

Great location, easy access to sightseeing, restaurants, shops. Room was spacious, quiet, clean and comfy. Good coffee in lobby cafe. Good communication with the hotel staff by text prior to check-in.

For the price of the hotel, the bottle of water in the room should have been included instead of charging $7.00! They advertised a welcome drink and charged a $20 amenity fee. When we asked for the welcome drink, they were reluctant to offer it and finally handed out a small can of bubbly wine. A few more "amenities" for the mandatory "amenity" fee would have been nice, otherwise it's just a rip off! Also, valet parking for $50 per night is outrageous! You can easily self park at a variety of nearby locations for a fraction of the price.

Spacious and very modern room at a good price compared with competition in downtown Portland. Very helpful staff and nice mix of guests. Lower price on west side of building due to proximity to major construction on facing block made sense. Some excellent shops in easy walking distance, and very convenient to upscale Pearl District.

The coffee bar has rather limited hours and menu. There was a lot of noice starting at 6:30 AM from construction next door but really not a problem for weekend visits or early risers like us.

So cute with a great vibe.
