Hotel Grande Colonial La Jolla, San Diego

We loved dining at the 910! Our first room had a bed in it that needs to be replaced, #136. We moved the next day to room #133 thanks to the excellent help from Cassandra. Thank you! The fireplace & coffee pot were not working in this room. As you leave the bathroom to go into the kitchenette there is a sharp object that catches on a foot as you leave the bathroom. It is very sharp & needs to be addressed. Overall we had a lovely stay. Your staff is amazing! Thank you so much!!!!

Staying in LA Jolla for a family wedding, I have never felt more "at home"! All the staff have gone out of their way to make sure we were happy and having a good time!

Not being informed about all the stairs we'd have to use.

Everything was perfect!

We loved this refurbished historic hotel, its lovely staff, luxury amenities, incredible restaurant, and darling little pool. I was visiting with my 5 yr old daughter and we had an absolute blast walking to the beach, playing in the pool, and exploring La Jolla from the hotel's central location. The front desk crew did a great job directing us and loaning out beach gear (chairs, towels, sand toys etc) and making us feel very welcome. We'd love to come back!

Gorgeous historic property with great staff. Rooms with ocean view. Location is great for shopping and restaurants and walks along famous La Jolla coast walk.

Excellent location in very historic hotel. Walk to the beach and see tide pools, sea lions, and breathtaking sunsets. Great view of the ocean and pool from the suite we booked on the fifth floor. King bed and sleeper sofa were both comfortable. Lobby is charming and pool area is relaxing - just big enough to never feel too crowded. Most outstanding is the service - five stars - from valet to front desk to housekeeping. Nine ten restaurant is maybe the best restaurant in La Jolla. We enjoyed it twice - once for breakfast and once for dinner. Don't hesitate to book this hotel with kids - they have beach toys, boogie boards, and umbrellas available at no extra cost - and La Jolla's famous children's pool is only blocks away for shallow ocean time (when the seals aren't there). Best of all, the Grande Colonial accomodated moving our reservations when we had to postpone the trip a month due to Covid. Not sure you can find a better hotel or more attentive staff in La Jolla. This hotel gets everything right without ever looking like its anything out of the ordinary. Ten of ten would recommend booking again.

Lobby, front desk,, and hallways are not air conditioned. Probably not an issue 90% of the time, but we stayed during a heat wave. Room was plenty cool at least.

The Grande Colonial La Jolla is a hotel from a past era, and in a good way. There's plenty of comfort and convenience, but the building and decor feel like last-century coastal California... and I mean that as high praise. I notice from the hotel's photos that there are rooms with ocean views, but I didn't know that when I booked and I was very pleased with our room and its view on main street La Jolla. A great stay, if too short.

the property was beautiful. the room was clean with a beautiful view of the ocean. The lobby was comfortable, my grandkids enjoyed the pool.

Close to so many restaurants and things to do. Very quite and easily accessible to every street (lots of gates leading out of property). Had a kitchenette that was super useful especially if we had leftovers from the local restaurants.

Room smelled a bit like pet urine. I used some air freshener and it helped.

Very convinient location, close to the beach. Neat and clean room and facility. The staff are very welcoming. Offers breakfast in bed service.

location was fabulous- one block from the Ocean and relight in town. it was emasculate which is important to me and the staff was friendly and thoughtful.

Bedding and mattress are getting rather tired, and it's time for a replacement. Many more hangers in the closet are needed.

Location is perfect! Within walking distance of the beach, and shopping. Room was very comfortable, and the staff very accomodating.

The towels!! All they did was spread the water around.

The Grand Colonial was absolutely fabulous- spotless, lovely garden and swimming pool with attentive and kind staff.

Perfect location right in the middle of La Jolla. The hotel is a lovely mix of history and comfort.

Paying for valet parking is always a disappointment.

Our room was not in the main building but was just around the corner. There was a lovely courtyard where we could relax. The room was spacious with a large bathroom. The location was great - on the Main street and close to the waterfront area.

There was a steep flight of stairs to our room - no elevator. This was ok for us but would not be great for older folks.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating, more then willing to help and make the stay as pleasant as possible.

The mini fridge in the room could have been better, either then that everything else was great.
