La Valencia Hotel, San Diego

The bed was super comfortable, not too soft and not too firm. The room was huge. Great food. Convenient vale parking with polite and friendly staff.

Too many stairs. My "partial view" was of a staircase. I had no ocean view. Also I paid over $700 for one night, it did not live up to it's reputation. Also no robes provided

It was quite dated, especially the bar area, which is a pity for such a beautiful building. The room was exceedingly cramped and the bathroom door had a sliding design that repeatedly blocked.

Room had terrible sheets, musty smell and sparse decoration/design (located in Olde Cabrillo Wing).

This is a glamorous hotel perched in a perfect spot to watch the beautiful sunsets of La Jolla. A short walk down some steps and you can view sea lions and their pups frolicking in the waves. The town of La Jolla has great boutiques, and charming delicious restaurants. Valencia has old world charm, and all the people are extremely friendly.

The restaurant service was mediocre at best. No placemats, no bread served, no salt and pepper, and a small and overworked staff. Also the menu was quite limited.

We loved the location of the hotel, the vibe and general ambiance. The location is within excellent walking distance to lots of restaurants and shopping and of course, not too far from the beach. We spent the afternoon at the pool and received excellent service from the bartender (thank you, Jared) despite the fact that the pool was full and he was working solo. The room was great even though we were right next to the elevator, we never heard a sound. Our view was an odd angle but still lovely. The bed was amazingly soft and comfortable!

This is definitely not the place to stay if you want to walk outside the resort and be on the beach. There is a park across the street which is very full of people. The beach directly in front of the hotel is all cliffs so to actually be on the beach requires a little walk. Easy if you're two adults but not so easy carrying stuff and kids (we didn't have kids, just my observation). Also, the elevator is very small and absolutely necessary if you are traveling with someone in a wheelchair. Lots and lots of stairs.

This is truly the Grand Dame of Hotels in La Jolla. They "Pink Lady" really impressed me. The views are amazing. The old time elegance of this property is beautifully presented. Finally, the location in La Jolla is central and within walking distance of everything one needs.

View was superb. We were upgraded to a suite with a view which was beautiful. One night there was a very loud TV above but the staff could not get the clients to turn it off. I was given a discount for the disturbance which was very much appreciated. Staff was the best!

We love the property and the location to the water. From the minute we arrived, until the minute we pulled out of valet parking, we were well cared for.

this hotel is in desperate need of renovation with the exception of certain amenities in the actual rooms. Coffee maker was not even working outdated unclean. I saw rust in multiple locations on ironworks and I saw a very dangerous railing that was below code near the fire ladder near the elevator on the third floor which must be looked at. From the restaurant looking at the beautiful view I could see the patios adjacent. Underneath those patios from the bedrooms appear to be significant water damage could result in failure. Overall the hotel is in desperate need of a remodel and if not a remodel someone needs to go over it top to bottom and fix all the issues.
