Grand Hyatt Union Square, San Francisco

I didn't like customer service of the staff at the kitchen while having breakfast.

Nice place, not too fancy but large room with nice green areas outside

The best things in this hotel are the staff and the breakfast buffet. Very friendly staff, and great food at the buffet. The location is quite nice too, very close the the main gate into Chinatown, and also close to Union Square and some very nice shopping streets.

Valet parking is overpriced ($85) so we did not take it. The room we got was smaller than we expected, and the beds were a lot smaller. Maybe we misunderstood the meaning of "double bed". Anyway we asked for another room and ended up in a suite, with a significant extra price to pay. Furniture in the room was a bit rusty and could use some maintenance. Overall value for money is low as prices are very high.

We had a twin bed room which was spacious. The Location is perfect for all shopping. The Police presence is good with so many homeless people hanging around.

The water pressure in the bathroom is very poor for an expensive Hotel. First time returning to San Francisco in 15 years. The homeless is out of control.

Top class Hotel! Staff extremely friendly! If we plan to visit San Fran again, this hotel would be our choice! Located in the center, close to Union Square, you have everything nearby. And if you are lucky enough to get a hotel room in floor 26 (like we did :-)), you can enjoy a breathtaking view! Free Gym in floor 35 makes even the training super easy! When it comes to San Francisco, safety is a topic; by choosing this hotel, you don't have to worry about any safety concerns.

Great location, and just walking distance to China Town and a lot of selections for Chinese Food. The facilities are just perfect.

I was charged a so-called "destination fee" but got nothing for it. It was just an excuse to inflate the bill above the posted room rate. Also, disappointed that the hotel did not provide free coffee/tea in the morning. Not asking for a full breakfast, but not even a cup of coffee for $300/night?

I really loved the location of the Grand Hyatt San Francisco. Being next to Union Station and restaurants was great. The staff was also very friendly and personable. I also appreciate the cleaning staff being so attentive to my room. They come early but will come back when you give them a time you’re leaving.

I was very disappointed that the restaurant didn’t offer a buffet breakfast that included hot breakfast meats that weren’t pork. The first day we ate breakfast they offered chicken sausage. They next day it was bacon and pork sausage. You would think that daily they would have hot breakfast meats that didn’t include pork. That was a huge disappointment. Luckily I walked to a restaurant close by that offered a variety of options.

The facility is beautiful and the rooms are comfortable. Public areas were nicely decorated and provided ample seating and space. Having a cafe on site was very helpful.

The bathroom setup was pretty poor for a nice hotel. The tub/shower combination was small and the base/floor of the tub was not solid, creating some sort of gap underneath that you could feel when using the shower. The worst part was the water temperature, which would fluctuate from extremely cold to dangerously hot every 20-60 seconds, making it impossible (and potentially dangerous) to shower. The hot temperature that it would suddenly switch to (this is with the temp set at warm and not adjusted) was scalding and had the potential to leave burns.
